CHARITY INFORMATION

Each year, proceeds from the Independents' Cup Charity Golf Tournament helps support select charities and other worthy causes. In 2017, the designated charities will be:

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas
  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas was built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child. They believe when a child is hospitalized the love and support of a family is as powerful as the strongest medicine.
For over 30 years, they have been supporting children and families through our Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Happy Wheels Carts and Healing Hearts program. The Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are a comforting “home-away-from-home” that keeps families close to their hospitalized children. The Happy Wheels Carts stroll the hospital hallways bringing complimentary items to families waiting by their child’s bedside and the Healing Hearts program supports families that have tragically lost a child.

  • Project Healing Waters
  • Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. PHWFF began in 2005 serving wounded military service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center returning from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since then, PHWFF has expanded nationwide, establishing over 200 highly successful programs in Department of Defense hospitals, Warrior Transition Units, and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and clinics. In 2015 alone, PHWFF served 7,424 injured and disabled military service personnel and disabled veterans.

  • Austin Music Foundation
  • The Austin Music Foundation (AMF) is a nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen and connect the local music community with innovative programs that empower music professionals and music businesses within Austin’s creative economy. The AMF offers free education specifically tailored to today’s music business climate. With expert panels, consultations, mentoring and mixers, AMF’s programs provide the necessary tools and opportunities to help the Austin music industry succeed. Since 2002, AMF has helped over 20,000 musicians and music industry professionals and remains committed to ensuring that Austin’s creative class and music industry thrive.
