“It will take years for US containerboard demand to recover from the 2008-2009
decline,” said Ken Waghorne, Senior Vice Presidnet of RISI at the Fourth Latin American
Pulp and Paper Conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Waghorne, who specializes in analyzing worldwide corrugated and containerboard
markets for RISI, the internationally recognized forest products research firm
based in Boston, gave a presentation that said essentially that while other
parts of the world start to pull out of their slumps, the North American
situation will remain weak through 2010 and will only significantly begin to
recover in 2011.

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to review a new college textbook. (The next issue of BoxScore will include a review of the textbook.) When the two professors at MSU’s School of Packaging received the copy for future additions and corrections
