AICC Optional Off-Site Tour - World of Coca Cola & Inside CNN Atlanta - "Behind the Scenes" Tour

The AICC Optional Off-Site Event will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm with tours of the NEW World of Coca Cola and a behind the scene tour of "Inside CNN Atlanta". You won't want to miss the opportunity to meet two of Atlanta brightest shining stars.
The NEW World of Coca Cola just recently opened in the heart of downtown Atlanta. The new and expanded attraction (over twice the size of the previous World of Coca-Cola) is the only place where you can explore the complete story - past, present and future - of the world's best-known brand.
There's something for visitors of all ages to enjoy, from a thrilling 4D cinematic experience, to the largest collection of Coke memorabilia ever assembled, to the World of Coca-Cola favorite - the tasting experience with over 70 different products to sample.
Your journey begins as you walk through the spectacular glass tower and into the lobby. From there you will be guided into a room where you are immersed in the Coca-Cola experience. From floor to ceiling, you'll be surrounded by Coca-Cola collectibles and memorabilia - of all shapes and sizes - from around the world.
Your journey continues to the Pop Culture Gallery where you can explore the many ways that Coca-Cola has become an icon in popular culture. See how well-known artists and everyday people from around the world express their creativity through Coca-Cola. The gallery will showcase one-of-a-kind artwork by such luminaries as Andy Warhol and Norman Rockwell and rare artifacts that have never been viewed by the public until now. You can even join the fun and create pop art of your own!
Finally, you'll reach the ultimate taste experience in the hip new tasting lounge. You can sample over 70 different "flavors on command" from around the globe through tasting stations that represent each continent. There is also a station dedicated to a selection of Coca-Cola brands such as Coca-Cola©, Diet Coke©, Vanilla Coke©, Coke ZeroTM, Cherry Coke©, etc. It's your own beverage playground flowing with soft drinks, waters, juices, teas, sports drinks and more!
You will receive an overview and instruction upon entering the World of Coca Cola tour, however note that this is a self-guided tour. Following the World of Coca Cola tour you will be transported to CNN Center for a guided behind the scenes tour.
CNN and Headline News have their home in the heart of downtown Atlanta. You will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the fast-paced excitement of a 24-hour news broadcast in the making with a tour of Inside CNN Atlanta. You'll view the newsroom, the cameras and lights, and all the other behind-the-scenes places and things the viewing public never sees.
Inside CNN Atlanta includes more than $5.5 million in recent additions and upgrades, transforming the tour into a new experience for first time or returning guests. New elements are featured throughout the tour, starting "inside the world of CNN" in a dramatic globe, approximately 48-feet in diameter, atop CNN Center's famous atrium escalator. Other new features include a completely new control room stop, new interactive kiosks, corridors of history depicting the network's famous breaking news coverage, flat screen monitors with live news, and a new tour finale with personal video reports from CNN's best known award winning journalists.
The cost of the tour is $65.00 per person and includes round trip transportation, entrance fees to the World of Coca Cola, CNN behind the scenes tour and all taxes and gratuities. The tour takes place from approximately 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm, please plan to meet in the lobby of the Omni hotel at 1:30 pm for prompt departure.
Restrictions on CNN Tour: Children under the age of 6 are NOT permitted on the CNN Tour. Handicap accessibility is limited. This is a walking tour that descends 8 flights of stairs.
Comfortable walking shoes and clothing recommended for both tours.
