AICC has developed two Special Interest Groups that meet monthly to discuss topics relevant to each group. The Marketing Special Interest Group meets monthly by conference call on the third Tuesday of every month at 2:00pm (Eastern). The Sales Special Interest Group will meet by conference call from 3:00pm-4:00pm (Eastern) on the third Tuesday of every month. Click here for more information

For the convenience of our members, the Financial School for Managers has been rescheduled for July 21-22, 2009. “Many of our members are involved in fiscal year end tasks in late June and early July and that is a very inopportune time for the Financial Managers and Controllers to be away from the office,” says John Bacot. “So, due to the substantial level of interest in the program, we made the decision to reschedule the event.”

The event will still be held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, just minutes from the Montreal Airport and is facilitated by Mitch Klingher of Klinger Nadler, LLP.

The Region 5 Meeting hosted by Chuck Fienning, Chairman of Sumter Packaging took place on June 18th and 19th at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. The meeting was well attended. We had a total of 80 registered attendees. The business meeting presentation topics included Succession Planning; Financial Planning; Containerboard Market Conditions as well as Sustainability among many others. The golf event brought in 45 players. Once again, our membership continues to support each other and this is a fact for our Region 5 members.

AICC's 14th International Corrugated Packaging Design Competition is being held October 5-7, 2009 in conjunction with the AICC 2009 Annual Meeting and co-located with PACKEXPO 2009. Since 1981, AICC has been proud to recognize, showcase and reward those independents who have met and exceeded their customers’ expectations of their corrugated packaging designs and displays in the biennial competition.

The 2009 Innovator of the Year Competition is being held in conjunction with the AICC Annual Meeting, October 5-7, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV. This year's competition will feature innovations developed by AICC Boxmaker members. The deadline for entries is Friday, July 31, 2009.
