AICC/BCN Innovator of the Year Competition Entry
Deadline Friday, August 13, 2010
The 2010 Innovator of the Year competition category focuses on non-machinery innovations that supplier members have developed since October 2006. The competition provides an outlet for AICC's industry supplier members to showcase non-machinery innovations including, but not limited to: computer systems, software and consulting; linerboards and new substrates; quality and management controls; administrative support; financial services; etc. In other words, any innovation that adds value to the board, and/or a non-corrugating machinery product innovation that may touch the board, and/or a machine that produces production-run converted products.

Less than 100 days before mid-term elections, AICC Members Making Appointments for October 5 Washington Fly-in

The mid-term elections are coming in November and already AICC members are making appointments with their Representatives and Senators for AICC’s Corrugated Industry Washington Fly-in, Tuesday, October 5. The day-long visit to Capitol Hill will allow all those attending the AICC-TAPPI Corrugated Week in Baltimore to meet with their Congressional representatives and senators to present issues important to small and medium size manufacturing businesses. Those issues came to the fore recently when congressional Democrats launched their “Make it in America” campaign designed to help the manufacturing sector create new jobs, providing a good opportunity for AICC members to make their case.   Read more...

AICC Announces Advanced Annual Meeting Registrations Exceed Expectations
AICC announces that early registrations for the 2010 Annual Meeting are coming in strong and have exceeded expectations.  “I think the dynamic program, co-location of our meeting with the AICC-TAPPI Corrugated week supplier trade fair, TAPPI’s Corrugated Division conference are all contributing to the strong registration numbers” said Steve Young, AICC President. In addition, said Young, Baltimore is an easily accessible and affordable destination and boasts one of the nation’s cheapest airports.

New - “How Healthcare Reform will Affect You and Your Business” being presented on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the AICC 2010 Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD
The Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC) will offer an early morning session on “How Health Care Reform will Affect You and Your Business” on Thursday, October 7 during the AICC 2010 Annual Meeting at the Hilton Baltimore, Baltimore, MD.  “The session will delve into how the new health care legislation will affect small companies and is a must attend session for all owners, CFOs, COOs and HR professionals.  This is one of the many great learning opportunities being offered during AICC-TAPPI 2010 Corrugated Week”, said Steve Young, AICC President.   Business owners have many questions about how health care reform will affect their business financially.  This informative session will address significant issues that owners need to consider when projecting health care expenditures and offer recommendations for the future.   Gene Marks, columnist, author and business owner, will present the session.   Gene Marks writes monthly online management and technology columns for both Forbes and Business Week, as well as, a bi-weekly column that appears nationally in American City Business Journals.

Chet Holmes, AICC 2010 Annual Meeting Keynote Speaker Discusses Strategies that Lead to Sales Growth
On Wednesday, August 4 representatives from more than 30 independent companies got a sneak preview of a major presentation at this fall’s AICC Annual Meeting.
