We are committed to your company staying strong during these challenging times and coming out of them stronger and more productive. While AICC leadership works to provide members with resources to deal with the COVID-19 crisis, your AICC Industry Experts Team is dealing with shelter in place guidelines. This restriction will not keep us from serving the membership. We have designed an online forum for bringing the right experts to deal with the challenges you are facing.

The Experts that comprise the forum faculty are Ralph Young on all things corrugated, Tom Weber providing resources on folding carton production, and Scott Ellis on processes improvement and leadership. For problems that require specific expertise, we will go the deep bench of talent within AICC membership to add the right resources to the conversation.

Our first series of meetings will focus on relieving process bottlenecks. We plan to demonstrate the identification and reduction or elimination of process blockers. A bottleneck is a point of congestion in a production system (such as an machine center or an order flow) that occurs when workloads arrive too quickly for the production process to handle, as well as when delays are created by lack of material or information. The inefficiencies brought about by the bottleneck result in higher production costs.

The method will be a very practical examination of current issues. You will be invited to send a detailed description of the problem, with as much data and video as can be provided. You can do this anonymously or engage in discussion about it during the sessions. Either way, you will be cautioned to avoid discussion of customers and/or pictures of the product.

Is there a particular Bottlenecked Machine or Department that you would like them to attack using a virtual tour and instructional video concept? Submit a brief description in advance and become a part of this live resource session where you gain and share best practices with your peers.

This initial series on Bottlenecks will be held in one-hour meetings over three consecutive weeks. We will begin Tuesday, April 21st, and meet April 28th, and May 5th. Each meeting is scheduled for 2:00 PM EST.
