AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, has added Sarilee Norton, Norton Associates, to the program of the Northeast Summit to be held September 5-6, in Atlantic City, NJ.
“The box business is back,” says Norton, “suggested data shows North American shipment growth exceeding 2% in 2016-2017 – the fastest consecutive annual growth since 1993-1994. Yet today's converting sector has evolved radically over the past decade, reshaped by the same forces that are driving its expanding output.”
Norton’s presentation will discuss:
- "Footprint Maps" of 1,300 Box Plants in the US and Canada.
- Timely Market Information: Which converting assets have been acquired, by whom and when; what end-use segments are having the greatest impact on box demand growth; new insights into key trends—e-commerce, basis weights, alternate approaches to supplying boxes.
- The "Value Chain" Model: A structure for understanding how each part of the containerboard industry fits together, and the forces behind its rapid evolution.
- Original research: Discussion of findings from direct surveys of leading executives in the containerboard converting space
The Summit will also feature, Gene Marks, columnist, author, CPA, & owner of The Marks Group, offering an update on Washington, Trump, & Taxes. Mitch Klingher, CPA, Klingher Nadler and Adam Josephson, CFA, KeyBanc Capital Markets, will address Strategic Planning for the independent converter, with information on the economic and market forces that will impact member companies over the next few years.
Les Pickering, co-owner, Quadrant5, will discuss Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing, and will then moderate a panel of AICC members discussing the impact of faster more efficient production.
A second panel, of AICC Associate Members, who are also facing workforce challenges, will discuss what we can learn from them. Panelists at this time include Kevin Marston, Bobst, Jeff Pallini, Fosber, Keith Umlauf, Haire Group, and Randy Wright, EAM Mosca.
This compelling program also includes a networking reception on the opening night and will be followed by a golf tournament at the Stockton Seaview Golf Club and a BBQ dinner.
