Gene Marino, Executive Vice President, Rusken Packaging
Gene Marino is currently Executive Vice President of Rusken Packaging, Inc., a leading independent manufacturer of corrugated containers in the Southern U.S. Gene is responsible for executing the growth strategy for the company.
Most recently, he was with Evolution Capital Partners as an Operating Partner and Director for Turf Ventures, Lewellyn Technology, Budco Financial Services, AXIOM Sales Force Development, Cascade Healthcare, Knowledge Center and ROI Networks. As Operating Partner, Gene assisted the portfolio company CEO's with execution of corporate strategy. Prior to Evolution, Gene was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Innerpac, a niche manufacturer of specialty packaging products, a portfolio company of Evolution Capital (2006 to 2010) and National City Equity Partners (1999-2006).
Gene has experience in the successful development, implementation and execution of a strategic plan in a multiple site operating entity. Gene also brings extensive experience operating a private equity owned business with a successful realization for its investors. Heavily involved in the industry, Gene held various leadership positions in the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters from 2003 until the sale of Innerpac in 2010. Prior to joining Innerpac, Gene worked at American National Bank (now a part of JP Morgan Chase) in asset-based finance first in the audit group and then into lending positions. Gene earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University and a Master's degree from the University of Chicago with a concentration in strategic management.
