The Economic Census is Coming Next Month Response is Required by Law Due Date June 12, 2018!
The U.S. Census
Bureau measures the nation’s population once every 10 years. It also measures
U.S. businesses every 5 years with the Economic Census. Companies who receive
the census are required by law to respond. Response to the Economic Census is due on June 12, 2018.
The data businesses provide is compiled into official statistics that are available for companies to use for planning and decision making.
The Economic Census asks for the following information by location:
Employer Identification Number
Physical location
Primary business activity
Sales, receipts, or revenue
Employment and payroll
Industry-specific questions
Important Dates:
February 1, 2018 - Economic Census Classification Initial Mail (sent to selected single-location businesses requesting industry classification information)
March 15, 2018 - Economic Census Classification Due Date
May 1, 2018 - Economic Census Main Mail
June 12, 2018 - Economic Census Main Mail Due Date
