The American Forest & Paper Association released its June 2018 U.S. Boxboard Report on 17th July. Total boxboard production increased 3.6% when compared to June 2017 and decreased 3.1% from last month. Unbleached Kraft Boxboard production increased over the same month a year ago but decreased compared to last month. Total Solid Bleached Boxboard & Liner production increased when compared to June 2017 but decreased compared to last month. At the close of the second quarter, all boxboard sectors—Unbleached Kraft Boxboard, Solid Bleached Boxboard & Liner and Recycled Boxboard—enjoyed a higher operating rate compared to last year.
