AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, has completed Conceptos Basicos de Corrugado 102 and 103 (Corrugated Basics 102 and 103) in Spanish. Now, the complete Corrugated Basics suite is available in English and Spanish.

“The priority for Latin-American Spanish translations set by AICC’s Board of Directors just makes sense in today’s competitive job market. AICC’s support of the ability to successfully train workers from throughout the hemisphere allows us to continue our efforts to support and grow independent converters and their suppliers,” said Mike D’Angelo, AICC Vice President.  “We also want to thank the generosity of our sponsors who have made this possible.”

Conceptos Basicos de Corrugado 101, History and Industry Overview, discusses the history of corrugated and provides participants with an overview of the corrugated industry today. The course also reviews the different types of manufacturers and what they produce. An explanation of the size and scope of the corrugated industry is also part of this free online course. The translation for this course was sponsored by EAM-Mosca of Mexico.

Conceptos Basicos de Corrugado 102, Corrugated Board and its Uses, covers the construction, configurations and types of corrugated board. Divided into three lessons, the first reviews how corrugated board is made. Lesson 2 covers the specifications of linerboard, medium and finished combined corrugated board as well as tests used to assure quality. In lesson 3 participants see the various types of products being made from corrugated. The translation for this course was sponsored by Cartro, S.A. P.I. de C.V.

Conceptos Basicos de Corrugado 103, Manufacturing and Converting, covers box terminology and examples of box blanks before they have been formed as well as several types of containers, including small folders, wrap-arounds, large bulk containers, and the most common package, the “regular slotted container” (RSC).  Participants will learn how to correctly describe a box using industry conventions and terms. The translation for this course was sponsored by Cajas de Carton Sultana, S.A. de C.V.

With nearly 50 free courses currently online and 10 online courses expected to be translated into Spanish this year, AICC is the leading educator for independent corrugated, folding carton, and rigid box converters. In addition to free bi-lingual online training, AICC also offers classroom seminars and webinars, each uniquely designed to meet the needs of a rapidly changing industry.
