AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, welcomed over 20 representatives of AICC member companies to Fort Worth, TX, October 24- 25 for Corrugated Packaging Fundamentals.
Dan Malenke, President, PKGPRO, LLC and Ralph Young, AICC Corrugated Technical Advisor, led the seminar and brought nearly 50 years of experience to the lectern and hands-on activities offered during the course.
Will Tillo, Account Representative, MaxPak Inc., said “Ralph and Dan provided extremely valuable information in regard to industry, print, and personal experience. They were able to not only present but demonstrate the complex material in a simple, practical way. The seminars information has already proven to be a competitive advantage in my career.”
The seminar gave attendees the opportunity to understand everything corrugated- from raw material choices to end use. The two days were filled with hands-on activities comparing printing, corrugated products, die cutting, and even digital printing.
Working in groups participants analyzed more than 30 examples of innovative packaging solutions from all over the world to learn how to improve a package and what makes a package a success. Attendees of Corrugated Packaging Fundamentals also saw first-hand how different substrates and coatings impact the durability and performance of corrugated packaging.
The classroom learning and hands-on activities were followed by a plant tour at Liberty Carton’s Fort Worth plant, an ISO-certified corrugated packaging manufacturing facility and an FDA and Texas Department of Health certified fulfillment operation.
Professionals in corrugated package design, sales, specification, purchasing, scheduling, quality
control, and production interested in expanding their understanding of corrugated packaging technologies can attend the next Corrugated Packaging Fundamentals seminar, April 30-May 1, 2019, at President Container in Middletown, NY.
