Total Productive Maintenance: RDC & FFG

April 19, 2019 – AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, will host Total Productive Maintenance: RDC & FFG, June 12-13, at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI.

This course will touch on many of the components of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) for packaging manufacturers, with particular attention to Autonomous Maintenance (AM). AM  is a maintenance strategy wherein machine adjustments and minor maintenance is performed by operators who are deemed to have unique knowledge about the equipment.

Protecting the investment made in equipment is essential in a packaging that is often overlooked due to high production demands. Normal operation of equipment causes continuous wear of press parts even under the best of conditions. Abrasive inks, substrates, and dust only accelerate the wearing process and the related quality problems. Neglecting scheduled maintenance may interrupt the production schedule during busy times, instead of planned maintenance during manageable downtime. Additionally, neglect of equipment costs the company press efficiency and increased waste. An Autonomous Maintenance program involves all capable employees to help keep equipment safely operating within acceptable quality limits.

TPM for the rotary die cutter is the second in a series of courses being held on machine maintenance for Flexography. Any attendee will be able to apply what they have learned to their machine in their plant whether it is a Rotary Die Cutter or a Flexo Folder Gluer.

AICC members registering before the early bird deadline of Thursday, May 30, will receive the discounted price of $995.

Attendees are encouraged to reserve their rooms at the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley before the hotel cut-off of Tuesday, May 21.
