AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, brought 12 packaging professionals from various levels at their companies to President Container in Middletown, NY to gain a better understanding of containerboard, converting, design and more during Corrugated Packaging Fundamentals from April 30 to May 1.
Peter Maraday, Statistics Manager, President Container Group, said the Seminar “very thorough, covers wide range of subjects, expertise, experience and presenting styles of the instructors is a perfect fit.”
This seminar, a comprehensive, interactive exploration of corrugated packaging technologies, allowed attendees to ground their previous knowledge in a greater understanding raw material choices, packaging design, printing, converting, sustainability, and end use. Attendees participated in hands-on activities that will allow them to analyze various packaging solutions, examine the performance attributes of containerboard and corrugated board including appearance, printability, and runability in their home plants.
Corrugated Packaging Fundamentals “has given me a great, initial understanding of customer expectations,” said Jordan Dye, Process Design Engineer, Stickle Steam Specialties.
Participants were also able to tour the host location, President Container, and see a manufacturer of corrugated shipping containers and point of purchase displays. President uses sustainable materials and produces over 2.4 billion square feet of corrugated products annually. President Container specializes in items for the food & beverage, cosmetic, garment, and other commercial industries.
Instructors Dan Malenke, President, PKGPRO, LLC, and Ralph Young, AICC Corrugated Technical Advisor, brought nearly 50 years of experience to the lectern and hands-on activities offered during the course.
This seminar will be offered again Wednesday, June 19- Thursday, June 20, at Pacific Southwest Container, LLC, in Modesto, CA.
