The U.K. Corrugated and Print Show opened in Liverpool, England Monday, June 24. A joint production of FESPA and the U.K. Sheet Plant Association (SPA), AICC organized a program for members in conjunction with the SPA.
Lead by AICC Chairman Joe Palmeri of Jamestown Container and AICC International Director Kim Nelson of Royal Containers, the group includes Josh Sobel of Jamestown Container, Greg Arvanigian of Arvco Container, Greg Jones of SUN Automation and AICC’s Steve Young and Mike D’Angelo. Several spouses and guests are also on the trip.
Joe and Kim made presentations to the show attendees on the state of the Corrugated Industry in North America as part of the afternoon speaker’s program.
Liverpool is a seaport city in the Northwest of England best known as the home of the

Beatles. The weekend arrival allowed members of the tour to visit several sites related to Liverpool’s maritime history and the Fab Four.
The group attended the trade show on June 24 and will visit two box plants in the area on June 25, West Coast Corrugated Ltd. and the Cardboard Box Company. AICC thanks Daniel Graham and Ken Shackleton, respectively, for opening their plants to the delegation. Tuesday evening the group will dine with several SPA members. The day should offer a great opportunity to exchange information and ideas. AICC thanks Alan Glen, President of SPA and Tim Gray, Chairman of SPA for their hospitality, for their kind assistance in making arrangements and for being such wonderful hosts.
The AICC Board of Directors is encouraging closer ties between AICC and paper-based packaging organizations elsewhere in the world. There will be similar trips scheduled in the future. Please consider expanding your horizons and operational knowledge by joining a future trip. Watch the iCalendar and AICC promotions for future opportunities.
