AICC received the sad news that Ed Mucci, Sr., the founder of National Steel Rule, has passed away.
His son, Ed Mucci, Jr. shared this heartfelt tribute with the industry. Personal condolences may be sent to eddie_mucci@yahoo.com :
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our founder, our friend, my father….Ed Mucci Senior
The contributions that Ed has made to this company as well as our industry are extraordinary. He and Joe Bialoglow founded National with the singular goal of improving the process of rotary diemaking and diecutting. The passion for this industry and the people of National stayed with Ed until the very end of his life. I believe his goal was to die with his boots on, and he came very close to making that a reality. He worked at National until the day he took what seemed like a minor fall, but which proved anything but. Though he is gone, his spirt will live on within the walls of our company in perpetuity. He was a very humble man from extremely humble beginnings that never let his success change him, or the way he treated others. He was never one to talk about his accomplishments and was always quick to assign credit for successes to others.
He loved his family, his country, and his company deeply, and was always proud of all three. His true joy was walking through the factory and chatting with the people he valued so much. Ed lived the American dream and leaves behind a legacy built on a lifetime of hard work. The outpouring of concern and prayers from those who knew his health was failing in recent months was both extremely touching, and very much appreciated. As the news of his passing began to spread, it is clear the impact he has had goes far beyond the walls of National.
On behalf of my family, The Bialoglow Family and the rest of the National Steel Rule Family, I want to thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Edmund Mucci Jr.
