You aren’t alone in your search for talent. According to Bloomberg, 2/3rds of businesses around the world are having trouble filling open positions.

In your search for employees, you are competing against Amazon. The company is paying an average starting salary of $18/ hour to delivery and warehouse workers to fill 125,000 positions in the US before the holiday shopping season. The AP reports that most openings are in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington.

Before this latest hiring spree, Amazon reported it employs 950,000 workers in the US. With 145.8 million non-farm workers, that means that one in every 153 people work for this online giant, according to Business Insider. Amazon has already opened more than 250 new warehouses, airport hubs, and delivery facilities this year and plans on opening 100 more in September.
