The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) and the Fibre Box Association (FBA) released 1st Quarter 2022 industry statistics on Friday. US box shipments declined slightly by 0.3% compared with first-quarter 2021 shipments. Containerboard shipments totaled 102.648 billion sq. ft. Operating rates were 94.3%. Weeks’ supply of Containerboard was 4.0.
AF&PA also reported Q1 Boxboard production up 2.2% and operating rates of 94.0%. Increases were seen in all grades.
