Fastmarkets RISI reports that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced a Q4 2022 year on year decline of 3.5% on package deliveries, to 1.935 billion pieces versus 2.005 billion pieces in Q4 2021. “The volume decline reflects the continued abatement of the pandemic-related surge in e-commerce. However, shipping and packages’ volume remains higher than pre-pandemic levels,” the USPS said. USPS also announced shipping and package revenue increased $203 million or 2.4% on the reduced volume.
