The DOL has denied our and other requests to extend the comment period for the proposed changes to the overtime pay rule (see here). As a result comments must be submitted by November 7. We expect to circulate the PPWO comments for sign ons by Oct 30. Please let me know if you have any survey results or data you can share that might be helpful to include in our comments. Also, if you have not sent a survey to your members yet, but would like to do so, I can send you our model survey, just email me. Lastly, a reminder about our grassroots portal which allows you to send model comments directly to DOL as well as a model letter to your Senators and Representative in Congress. Below is a model grassroots alert for you to send to your members encouraging them to use the grassroots portal. Thank you, Josh Ulman Ulman Public Policy Josh Ulman - josh@ulmanpolicy.com
Posted 10/09/2023 AICC supports the efforts of the Partnership to Protect Workplace Opportunity (PPWO) in opposition to the Department of Labor’s Proposed new Overtime Rule. Grassroots Toolkit for Members to Oppose DOL’s Proposed Overtime Rule PPWO created a grassroots toolkit for you and your members to respond to the overtime proposed rule. Our grassroots portal allows you to send model comments directly to DOL as well as a model letter to your Senators and Representative in Congress. We’ve also drafted a model grassroots alert for you to send to your members encouraging them to use the grassroots portal. The alert, which can be found below, educates your members about the issue with the proposed eule and directs them to the portal to submit their comments and letters. Finally, we put together model survey questions for you to gather input from your members on the impact the overtime rule-making will have on their operations and workforce. Please feel free to modify the survey questions however you see fit. As a reminder, PPWO will be submitting comments as a coalition, and you will have an opportunity to sign onto those comments. That said, the more groups and employers send letters and comments, the more the Department and Congress will be forced to consider the regulated community’s concerns, so please weigh in yourselves and encourage your members to do the same!
