AICC held its latest regional summit in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area June 19 – 20, 2024. The event kicked off with a reception held in a suite at Globe Life Field where the group took in a baseball game between the Texas Rangers and the New York Mets. This event was sponsored by BPS AI Software and Haire Group.

Thursday morning, the 66 attendees visited Harris Packaging in Halstom City, TX and toured the busy and very clean sheet plant. The Harris team also provided a delicious southwest breakfast to all. After Harris, the group visited the new Greif CorrChoice facility in Dallas, TX. Still in startup mode, the facility will add to Greif’s ability to supply large format boxes up to triple-wall. From there, the group went to the University of Texas – Arlington (UTA) for lunch and a roster of speakers.

Jenise Cox of Harris Packaging, the AICC Southwest Regional Director, welcomed the group to Texas and opened a strong afternoon program. Steve Jarmon of Stambaugh Ness presented on cyber security, How to Secure Your Data Environment. Next, Mariam Yousef of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas made a presentation on the regional economy. Then Caitlin Salaverria, President of the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation presented on How to Work with Local Universities & Do a Successful Internship. Ben Dolezal, an Associate Professor at UTA, also made remarks on the topic and then led a tour of the UTA facilities that include packaging education resources within the Department of Art and Art History.

A closing reception was held at the Choctaw Lounge at Texas Live! that was sponsored by AG Stacker.

AICC thanks all the host companies, sponsors, and attendees that made this such an educational and successful event.
